In his lecture, he stressed that ethnic, racial and gender-based stereotypes and prejudices are the results of ignorance of each other’s identity. He also pointed out that diversity enhances shared knowledge and skills. He further elaborated that hate speech has got a niche on social media targeting the youth who frequently use sites of interest. Users of such sites need to be critical enough to counter-check the veracity of information disseminated through social media before sharing it with friends. He alluded to instances of stereotypes and prejudices based on ethnicity, race, religion and gender in the USA.
