St. Mary’s students celebrated the Culture Day on December 20, 2019. The annual event, organized by the Student Support and Services Office, in collaboration with the Student Union, witnessed students involved in leading and actively engaged in every activity. Dressed up with colorful costumes representing the diverse cultures of the country, the students depicted Addis
Ababa as the melting pot of cultures and heritages that make up the country. Not holding onto the original classical dance forms, they successfully portrayed the fusion of multiple cultural groups performing various dances as one; for instance, the melody of the music could represent a different cultural entity and the dance another one. Yet, the whole performance went well capturing the attention of the entire audience. Invited to the event were delegates from Japan, who promote and advocate for world peace and Ethiopians coming from diverse professions.
