St. Mary’s University Holds the 12th Multidisciplinary Seminar

St. Mary’s University held the 12th Multi-disciplinary Seminar on 25 August 2020 virtually.The Seminar aimed at promoting innovation and the culture of knowledge transfer among academicians, researchers and practitioners in different disciplines. 

 

Wondwosen Tamrat (Associate Professor), founder and President of St. Mary’s University, opened the Seminar by welcoming researchers and participants. In his opening remarks, the President indicated that St. Mary’s University’s commitment to research remains intact despite the challenges it is facing following COVID-19. He thanked paper presenters for their dedication toward the realization of the Seminar. He also reminded participants that the University will hold its 18th International Conference on September 08, 2020. 


At the Seminar, 10 papers(5 SMU faculty members, one faculty from Addis Ababa University and three SMU 2020 Master’s program graduates), which have nation-wide implications,were presented and discussed. The papers presented at the Seminar covered different topics, including Agriculture, Climate, Education, Economics, Language, Law and Marketing. The papers will be published in the Proceedings as has been the case for the last eleven years.

Finally,the Vice President for Research and International Relations, Misganaw Solomon (PhD), made closing remarks. In his speech, he appreciated the participants, paper presenters and the organizers for their relentless efforts to make the event happen. 

 

In attendance were St. Mary’s University staff and scholars and students from other higher education institutions.
