St. Mary’s University graduated a total of 1200 students (465Male &735 Female) with undergraduate degrees on January 16, 2021 at Golf Club, Addis Ababa.

Committing itself to creating access to and conducive learning environment, St. Mary’s University has been able to see its female graduates account for 61%. This makes females’ participation in higher education encouraging.
The ceremony started with congratulatory remarks made by Associate Professor Wondwosen Tamrat, Founder and President of the University, who urged the graduates to put the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their stay at the University into practice and contribute their share to Ethiopia’s development.

The graduation ceremony took place at the Addis Ababa Golf Club in the presence of Guest of Honor, Mr. Kibret Abebe, President of the Ethiopian Social Enterprise and Founder and CEO of Tebita Ambulance, who made inspirational speech revealing his own life and entrepreneurial experiences that enabled him attain success in his career. Ato Kibret reminded graduates that they have just began their long journey which holds in its store a lot of opportunities and challenges toward which they should prepare to use the opportunities and overcome the challenges. He reiterated that graduates should use their entrepreneurial skills and remain resilient to let their dreams come true.

The ceremony came to a close with the award of Trophy and Medals to the best achievers. The winner of this year’s medal was a female graduate who completed her study with very great distinction from the Faculty of Accounting and Finance.
