Ato Kibret Abebe, Founder and CEO of Tebita Ambulance and President of Social Enterprise Ethiopia, who was the Guest of Honor at St. Mary’s University’s recent Graduation Ceremony, visited SMU on February 4, 2021 for a unique reason. Unlike the tradition where a guest of honor is thanked by the invitee, Ato Kibret paid a visit to SMU to thank the University for having him as a Guest of Honor at its most recent convocation. As a gesture of friendship between Tebita Ambulance and SMU, Ato Kibret presented gifts to SMU.

Ato Kibret was welcomed by Ato Wondwosen Tamrat (Associate Professor), President of St. Mary’s University, together with the Director for International Relations and Communication Office and Ato Mekdela Mekuria, instructor at the Department of Marketing Management and a Business Coach at E4Impact Entrepreneurship Program of St. Mary’s University. Before presenting the gifts, Ato Kibret mentioned his two personal habits: saying “Thank you” and ‘Excuse me”. “My visit to SMU today is to say thank you for having me at your recent graduation ceremony,” he applauded. Ato Kibret presented to SMU 26 First Aid Kits, 26 DVDs on First Aid Teaching and three copies of a book titled “የ'ለምን’ አሻራ” by Adugna Hirpha. He also promised to provide SMU with a DVD of a Documentary Film on four Entrepreneurs, including Tebita Ambulance. In addition, he briefly shared his institution’s good practices, particularly on documentation.

Ato Wondwosen Tamrat (Associate professor), after receiving the materials, thanked Ato Kibret for the gifts and for sharing the practical experiences of Tebita Ambulance from which SMU can learn a great deal. He mentioned the University’s plan to strengthen entrepreneurship education and training via E4Imapct Program at SMU. Ato Wondwosen vowed to work with Tebta Ambulance in areas of mutual interest.
