Computer Laboratories

St. Mary's University(SMU) has 13 computer laboratories with more than 300 computers for use by students in the under graduate programs. The laboratories are equipped with the latest hardware open for use to the entire academic community and researchers.

All offices and laboratories at Mexico Campus are networked. In addition to the computer labs, an internet café is available for students at the Mexico Campus.

Students can access the Internet using their laptops at hotspots on campus. Students need to get a security key from the ICT unit to use wireless Internet.

Four of the computer labs are exclusively dedicated to serving Faculty of Informatics students. Out of these, the Maintenance Lab allows students to learn and experiment hardware maintenance related topics. Another one of these labs is dedicated to teaching Network Design, Implementation and Administration.

In an effort to equip distance learning with the skills of computing, the Distance Education Division has put in place computer laboratories with more than 200 computers at the various distance learning centers for practical learning of IT and computer science courses in selected distance education Coordination Centers. Further effort is being made to organize the same in the remaining centers.
