St. Mary’s University (SMU) shared its experiences with Holy Trinity University on November 04, 2022 in its premises.
The experiences sharing took place following the Holy Trinity University’s request to learn from SMU’s rich experience in running distance education programs.
Welcoming the four-person delegation of the Holy Trinity University, Ato Tsegaye Gabissa, Head of the President Office, SMU, gave a briefing about SMU, its structure, overall operations and the details on distance education operation. Reiterating SMU’s rich and successful experiences in running open and distance education, Ato Tsegaye emphasized that putting in place and being guided by clear and transparent policies, rules, regulations, guidelines and manuals and plans is essential to run distance education effectively. Having clear structure and operational framework enables fulfilling the goals of the University, he added.
Ato Shimelis Tamiru, Academic Division Officer under the President’s Office, and Ato Daniel, Chief Registrar, explained to the team the main responsibilities and operations of the Registrar and student management.
The session came to an end by a visit to SMU’s facilities.
