A team of experts from the Ministry of Education had a working visit to St. Mary’s University on November 22 and 23, 2022.

The three-person team spent a day and half at the University to collect data pertaining to the diverse operational units and to get a clear picture of the needs of the University that should have been met by the Government.

To that effect, the team had a session with academic and support unit officers on the first day to discuss university wide activities that have relevance to teaching & learning, research and community services. In this regard, documents related to institutional policies, manuals, guidelines and statistical data were presented to corroborate what transpired during the discussions. Moreover, the PowerPoint presentation gave the team a clear picture of the level of automation SMU’s Registrar System has reached.

On the 2nd day, the team visited the various operational units, including the Student Support and Services Office, Career and Internship Unit, Center for Educational Improvement and Quality Assurance, Registrar, Research and Knowledge Management Office, Libraries and the Printing Press.
