On behalf of St. Mary’s University, Misganaw Solomon (Ph.D.), Vice President for Research and International Relations Office (VPRIR), welcomed the students and explained the duties and responsibilities expected of the students and underscored that students who are joining the University are expected to understand and adhere to the University’s policies, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct.
Following the remarks by Misganaw Solomon (Ph.D.), orientations were given on issues related to the program, the University, and the students by Tesfaye Tilahun and Shimeles Tamiru from the Office of the President.
During the presentations, it was explained that the main objective of the remedial program is preparing the students for Higher Education (HE) entrance exams. The program runs for four months (Magabit 15 - Hamle 14, 2015 EC), and is managed by a committee that guides and oversees its overall implementation.
Moreover, the students were briefed about the class schedule, course syllabus, the overall assessment of the program, and learning materials that are available at the Learning Management System (LMS).
The second round of orientation which took place at Lideta Limat Primary School on March 24, 2023, was conducted in four sessions. Misganaw Solomon (Ph.D.), Vice President for Research and International Relations Office (VPRIR), welcomed the students on behalf of St. Mary’s University and gave a brief explanation about the vital and pertinent issues of the program. Similarly, Ato Tsegaye Gabissa, Executive Assistant to the President, provided a detailed explanation of the roles of the students, time management, effective use of University resources, and other related issues.
